About This Item
Poster, clay paper. [23⅞ x 16⅜ inches] A ½-inch tear at top not affecting text. Minor abrasions to bottom left. Some general light creases. Very good. Poster announcing a rally to protest the clearing out of vacant apartment buildings near the Berlin Wall. As the physical wall was dismantled and disappeared, vacant apartments next to the no-man's-land of the wall in East Berlin had been occupied, "squatted," by artists, punks, dissidents, and gays; young people with a liberal stance and creative energy. Offi cial clearing of the building by the police was often abetted by neo-nazi and fascist parties who participated in the harassment of the squatters.
All posters are presently stored between acid free boards, flat, under weight. They will be shipped rolled, in tubes.
