Full brown calf leather with double ruled gilt borders on top and back, gilt lettering on spine. Leather is darkened Lion spine but gilt lettering clean and bright. Slight scuffing at bottom of spine and lower corners.Book is free of foxing. Copperplate engravings by H. W. Bicknell are signed by him in pencil. Pages are clean and unmarked. The tissue guard over the first engraving has a tear at top edge near gutter. Lacking slipcase. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 23 pages .

Title page engraving by Arthur N. Macdonald, and is originally signed by him in pencil. Six etched illustrations by W.H.W. Bicknell, which were only produced for this book (and then the plates destroyed) are each originally pencil signed by the illustrator. Pages: clean, ivory, tight, t.e.g., f.e./b.e. deckled, frontis; no defects. Cover: polished calf, gilt linework front/back, gilt titles spine; moderate shelf/edgewear, with edges and joints scuffed, spine a bit worn. Lacks slipcase.
