Light wear at the corners of the dustjacket; price intact; no interior markings. A fast-paced novel based on the story of the U.S.S. Indianapolis, the ship that carried the atom bomb from San Francisco to the Pacific island from which it was launched. When the ship sailed, few knew the nature of her precious cargo; the Japanese would have given much to find out; and the Americans had taken extraordinary precautions to be sure that they never would... until sometime later... And this Investigates the real reasons behind the loss of hundreds of U.S. sailors in shark-infested waters after the Indianapolis was sunk on the return trip of its secret mission to deliver the atom bomb....
