Estes & Lauriat, 1892. Numbered. Hardcover. Very Good. No. 160 of 1000 sets. Large 8vo in blind tooled brown cloth, spine titles in gilt, top edges gilt. A Very Good set overall, with the corners and spine ends mildly pushed but not rubbed, all bindings firm. Laid in is a sheet of what are meant to look like postage stamps, with Dickens's visage. The script in the top margin reads 'Issued under the auspices of the Dickens Centenary Testimonial Committee for the purpose of raising a fund for the benefit of the descendants of Charles Dickens, and should the proceeds permit, of in other ways comemorating his memory.' The sheet is four stamps across and three deep, and is separated through the middle. Please request a shipping quote before ordering.
