Munchen: O C Recht Verlag, 1922. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good. First edition. Hardback, full leather with five raised bands and gilt titling to spine. One of 100 copies signed by the author, numbers 1-20 being hand-bound in full leather and this being No 3 (numbers 21-100 were bound in half-leather). Top edge gilt. 21.5 × 13.5cm, 174pp. German text. Signed by Lili Turel to the limitation page at the rear of the book. The title translates as 'The Well-Beloved Woman; George Sand and her friends in letters and documents', and is a biography of George Sand (pseud. Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin de Francueil) the French novelist and memoirist. The book is illustrated with ten mezzotints of her circle: Chopin, Liszt, Heine etc. Condition: Good condition. There is tanning to the pages, most of which are unopened (uncut at the top edge). However, the inner binding is secure and the book remains in strong readable condition.
