Slipcase: Custom built slip case in brown buckram, lined with brown card. Previous owners bookplate inside front cover. Excellent condition. Overall case condition is Near Fine. Book: First printing. One of the 950 trade copies, although limitation is not stated. Limp green suede binding with yapp edges. Browning and light creasing to edges. Page edges untrimmed. Red silk pastedown endpapers. Red silk ribbon bookmark. First initial in each poem printed in blue and black. Colophon and running title printed in red. Tanning to free endpapers, very clean text throughout. Previous owner's bookplate to leading blank. An unauthorised American edition. Contains a selection of poems taken from 'Departmental Ditties' and 'Barrack Room Ballads' including 'The Dipsy Chanty' (The Last Chantey), 'The Vampire', and 'Gunga Din'. A very nice example.
