1589 Ammiani Renaissance Preacher Manual anti-Lutheran Augustinian Italian Monks
Sebastian Ammiani was a 16th-century Augustinian monk from Fano who made important contributions to the development of preachers in Italy. Ammiani, a hermit, was notably not a preacher himself, but he wrote a book entitled 'Discorsi Predicabili per Documento' in which he taught preachers how to better at giving their speeches. This book was also incredibly anti-Lutheran. Certain passages of this book included picturesque phrases and paragraphs detailing the devastation that Lutheran preachers had brought to the world. (Michelson, p. 63).
