Seventeenth printing of first edition. Inscribed on title page:"Miss Martha Brown, with all good wishes" and signed: " John Beaty, Barboursville, Va". Dated: "Christmas 1960 New Year 1961". Address label on front flyleaf for Mrs. H. Douglas Brown. Very minor shelf wear. Front board has quarter inch tear on edge. Beaty, a teacher at Southern Methodist University and a veteran of the Military Intelligence service during World War II, was charged with being anti-semitic because of this book. "The Iron Curtain Over America" charges that communism is a Jewish conspiracy and this ideology fit in nicely with ultra-conservative political opinion during the Sen. Joseph McCarthy era.

The cover of this book has much wear. A binding was added later as well as pads for the corner's of the book. the previous owners names are written on the inside of the front cover and on the top of the third blank page. The pages are yellowing and tanning. The edges of most of the pages are worn.
