About This Item

New York: Harper & Row, Publishers [0-06-012563-2] 1974, 1st edition, 3rd printing. (hardcover) 341pp. Very good in fine dust jacket. 8vo. Ex-lib., with stamps and date paste down, partially removed, from the front free endpaper. That identified, this copy is a first edition, third printing and not a Book Club Edition (BCE). Jacket unclipped. Some residue to the cover, front and back. The Dispossessed is one of only a few books to win all of the big 3 science fiction awards: the Hugo, the Locus, and the Nebula, for best novel and received a degree of recognition unusual for sci fi, perhaps because it explored such themes as anarchism, revolutionary societies, capitalism, utopia, individualism and collectivism. The text is clean and the pages crisp. Overalll, a very good copy in a fine jacket which is protected in a loose mylar sleeve..
