About This Item
New York, NY: Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 1960. Book. Very Good. Cloth. Signed by Author(s). First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. New York, NY, Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 1960. SIGNED & INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR. First edition. 8vo. Black cloth with gilt title field and lettering on spine, red top edge on text block, rough cut pages, 629 pp. An epic drama from the post-Civil War period, when America was expending its frontiers ever westward. Magnificently told in fine historic detail, this gripping story was also made into a 1964 movie of the same name, starring Troy Donahue and Suzanne Pleshette. Bindings are lightly worn, pages slightly tanned, but text block is clean, solid and appears gently read. Very good..
