The fifth edition of this work which was first published the prior century. Scarce in all eighteenth century editions.Illustrated with a portrait of Quarles, an engraved title page, and four leaves of plates. Collated, complete.With a former owner's inscription to a front blank discussing the portrait of Charles.ESTC T94229A smart copy of this religious poetry by Quarles, who is best remembered for his 1634 work 'Emblems'. In a full calf binding, with gilt detailing to spine and blind tooling to boards. Externally, head of front joint starting, with board holding firm. Inscriptions to a front blank. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned due to paper type, with handling marks and light spotting throughout, and with the odd marginal ink notation. Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
