Mitchell Kennerley, 1911-01-01. Hardcover. Good. . Mitchell Kennerley, New York, 1911. Decorative Cloth. Book Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Folio - over 12"" - 15"" tall. Folio (15 x 11.25 inches), 153 p., illustrated with ten Aguatint images by Alvin Langdon Coburn (which have transfered on the opposite page as usual). Printed on French hand-made paper with rough edges, with types and decorations designed by Frederick W. Goudy, who used his new font ""Kennerley Old Style"" for the first time in this book. 600 copies of this book were printed, of which 300 at most had the full complement of 10 gravures, the rest having often one gravure or aquatones (a halftone process). This copy is one of 300 that were replaced by Aquatone illustrations. Binding is the original paper-over-boards with gilt stamping, and linen spine with paper label showing title printed in black. Binding is tight. Internally, this copy features two small 1.5"" long by 1/2"" stains deep in the gutters that affects all signatures. else, VG.
