About This Item

MP3 Audio CD. A Dreamer's Tales is the 5th volume by Irish fictional author Lord Dunsany, deliberated as a foremost inspiration on the oeuvre of H. P. Lovecraft, J. R. R. Tolkien, Ursula K. Le Guin, Michael Moorcock and the like.

This is a book of 16 magical short tales, and differs from the languor of Blagdaross to the revulsions of Poor Old Bill and Where the Tides Ebb and Flow to the societal sarcasm of The Day of the Poll.

The collection contains these fanciful stories: Poltarnees, Beholder of Ocean; Blagdaross; The Madness of Andelsprutz; Where the Tides Ebb and Flow; Bethmoora; Idle Days on the Yann; The Sword and the Idol; The Idle City; The Hashish Man; Poor Old Bill; The Beggars; Carcassonne; In Zaccarath; The Field; The Day of the Poll; and The Unhappy Body.

Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany was an Anglo-Irish author and playwright. His fictional works, typically in the category of mysticism, was issued bearing the appellation Lord Dunsany. He wrote in excess of 80 narratives which were issued, and his opuses contained countless several circulated short tales, also notable stageplays, paperbacks and articles. He is celebrated for his 1924 whimsical fiction The King of Elfland's Daughter. He accomplished prodigious recognition and prestige with his prime short fiction and dramas and through the 1910s was respected as among the best living authors of the English-speaking countries.

Lord Dunsany was a productive author, drafting short fiction, novels, dramas, poetry, articles and life accounts. He produced more than 60 publications, not counting singular dramas. He started his literary profession in the concluding years of 1890s, with some printed poems, like Rhymes from a Suburb and The Spirit of the Bog. He gave an enduring vestige in 1905 when he came into the printing spectacle with the sought-after volume The Gods of Peg?na.
