About This Item

Montreal: Les Herbes Rouges., 1978. First Thus. Stapled wrappers. [43] pp. French text. Issue 60, February 1978, of the journal Les Herbes Rouges, edited by Francois and Marcel Hebert. Three poems ("Le Poeme de la Duegne Accroupie"; "Le Poeme de la Mer Habitee"; "Stele des Iles"), apparently first published by Editions Quartz in 1959, here illustrated with the author's drawings. Trace of sticker removal on front cover; center sheet laid in (not caught by staples); otherwise very good, and very warmly inscribed by the author on the title page. Ten of the thirty-three numbered sections of the poems have been identified with small numbers in parentheses, 1) through 10), in ink, whether by the author or recipient it is difficult to determine. Small 8vo.
