Limited edition, copy 234 of 500 on Rives BFK (from a total of 1000 copies, plus 100 artist proofs). Portfolio of 12 hand-pulled photogravure prints, loose as issued with tissue guards. Essays by photographer Beaumont Newhall and Steichen's daughter, Mary Steichen Calderone MD, each signed in ink by both. Fresh and as-new copy of this limited edition portfolio of Edward Steichen's most renowned photographs. The text leaves were printed at the Stinehour Press, and the photogravure plates were hand-pulled on the presses of the Atelier de Taille Douce of Saint-Prex, Switzerland.
