About This Item

Kew, Richmond, London: Royal Botanic Gardens,. Near Fine with no dust jacket. 2001. First Edition. Paperback. 1842460056 . A Near Fine THREE-VOLUME SET in an similar unworn red slipcase. I would have graded this set 'As New' but on pages 201, 203 and 206 of Volume 2, a child or ? Has made a large biro squiggle/drawing? Across those pages. Maybe an adult disagreeing with the content there - but I think 'little hands' got hold of the book briefly before it was whisked away! ! Otherwise NO inscriptions or other marks that I can see, and the set seems very little, if ever, used. Volume 1 is a large paperback (vi) + 698 pages. Volume 2 is a large paperback (vi) + 658 pages; and Volume 3 is a Hardback containing only (vi) + 30 pages plus two large fold-out maps housed in special 'pockets' at the end. All in pristine condition, apart from the biro markings mentioned earlier. "The Ecological Survey of Zambia is a detailed account of the travels of Colin Trapnell during 1932-43 in what used to be Northern Rhodesia. The information on soils, traditional agricultural methods, geology, African plant names, plant distribution and associations, and economic botany will be of interest to anyone concerned with the natural resources, ecology, or economy of Zambia. Supplied with two full sheet vegetation-soil maps, this three-volume set The Ecological Survey of Zambia is a detailed account of the travels of Colin Trapnell during 1932-43 in what used to be Northern Rhodesia. The information on soils, traditional agricultural methods, geology, African plant names, plant distribution and associations, and economic botany will be of interest to anyone concerned with the natural resources, ecology, or economy of Zambia. Supplied with two full sheet vegetation-soil maps. This 3-volume set is Near Fine in a slip case. Quite rare to find the full set intact. This set is overweight at circa 3.5 Kilos, and will require extra postage for International buyers depending on your location. See Images; Each Volume Small 4to - over 9" - 10" tall .
