I would have graded this set 'As New' but on pages 201, 203 and 206 of Volume 2, a child or ? Has made a large biro squiggle/drawing? Across those pages. Maybe an adult disagreeing with the content there - but I think 'little hands' got hold of the book briefly before it was whisked away! ! Otherwise NO inscriptions or other marks that I can see, and the set seems very little, if ever, used. Volume 1 is a large paperback (vi) + 698 pages. Volume 2 is a large paperback (vi) + 658 pages; and Volume 3 is a Hardback containing only (vi) + 30 pages plus two large fold-out maps housed in special 'pockets' at the end. All in pristine condition, apart from the biro markings mentioned earlier.
