About This Item

A HARD TO COME BY 1957 1ST EDITION THUS PRINTED IN LONDON
INCLUDES RARE WORKS OF ART ALL IN PERFECT CONDITION
SOME OF POE'S MOST MYSTERIOUS, DARK, AND POWERFUL WORKS

From its dark covers to its ominous artwork this is one beautiful Poe book. A rarely seen edition printed in London over 65 years ago and still in like-new condition. Including tales such as The Pit & The Pendulum, The Purloined Letter, Murders in the Rue Morgue, and many many others. For anyone who loved Poe's work, you will find a treasure trove of some of his greatest writings in this one. I must stress the condition again as being absolutely gorgeous from cover to cover. Including art I have never found in any other Poe book "And I have had a few ;) "I would snag this one before it is gone.

Spiral into a dimly lit world, down streets lined with madmen and their black deeds, through the cold twists of the catacombs, and into rooms where secrets dwell. From the tortured mind of Edgar Allan Poe, these three tales, "The Black Cat," "The Fall of the House of Usher," and "The Cask of Amontillado," speak to the hidden places inside us all.

Synopsis

Edgar Allan Poe (January 19, 1809 – October 7, 1849) was an American writer, poet, editor and literary critic, considered part of the American Romantic Movement. Best known for his tales of mystery and the macabre, Poe was one of the earliest American practitioners of the short story and is considered the inventor of the detective-fiction genre. He is further credited with contributing to the emerging genre of science fiction.
