About This Item
Shropshire: Marchland Books, 2011. An extension of the 'Wild Edric' saga which embraces Shropshire folk-lore interwoven with heroic deeds and medieval romance in the style of Arthurian legend. The three interlinked stories in 'Edric's Land' ('Aelnoth's Odyssey', 'Herla's Hunt' and 'The Prisoner of Wigmore') are inspired by Shropshire's evocative landscape, and mix historical realism with flights of the imagination. The trilogy uses elements of the Edric saga as a backdrop, whilst the main action concerns new characters: dispossessed Saxon, Norman heiress, outlaws, kings, knights, Marcher Lords, Welsh Princes and Bards, a monk, an abbess, travelling actors, witches, the Leader of the Wild Hunt, the Wild Man of the Woods, and Edrics wife: the Lady Godda. PLEASE NOTE: to keep costs low, this book has been produced at a local print-shop in A5 format, with colour matt-laminated card covers, and ring-binding. 212 pages, illustrated. The prequel: 'Wild Edric: A Narrative Poem', by the same author, is also available.. Signed by Author. First Edition. Paperback. New.
