Comprehensive collection of limericks with the original pen-and-ink illustrations of the author. Unpaginated. Orig. published as two separate books in 1846 & 1872, respectively, this is the First Edition combining the works from Wordsworth Editions of Hertfordshire, England, published in 1987 (First, thus). Oblong hardcover 8vo has blue cloth-covered boards lettered in bright gilt to spine. An Ex-Lib copy, with minimal stamps & markings in front matter & to top & bottom outside page edges, it is nonetheless in VG condition: very clean, binding strong & straight, pages creamy white with modest tanning, else unmarked. Tape residue to upper & lower edges of both boards where DJ was affixed. The unclipped DJ is VG+: protected under library mylar, it has virtually no edgewear, but an unsightly area of sticker pull to lower front cover near spine. rubbing to extremities & bumped corners.
