Signed by the artist, Lane Smith, with a full-page drawing of the Stinky Cheese Man on the front free endpaper. Scarce thus.
First edition. 1993 Caldecott Honor Book! Following up on the success of their previous collaboration, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, this award-winning duo created 10 new tales filled with humor and heart. With its unconventional page arrangement, and eclectic, frenetic mix of text and pictures, this delightful spoof has captured readers imaginations for nearly 30 years and influenced a generation of picture book authors. Copies signed by Lane Smith have grown quite scarce.

A Dozen Pair of Wedding Gloves. 12mo, original white ornamental colored boards printed in red and green (soiled; spine with some wear), headed at top of front cover, "Illustrated by 'Phiz'", up-lettered printed spine, advertisement on lower cover, wood engraved frontispiece & extra engraved title, p. xvi, 201, [1] blank, [6] ads + 6 wood engraved plates. London: James Blackwood, 1855.
First Edition. Frontispiece, extra-title and two other illustrations engraved by Gilks after Phiz, four other illustrations by other artists. Humorous short stories which the anonymous author has "Dedicated to My Friend Albert Smith." Also found in publisher's red morocco cloth. This fragile issue in boards is quite scarce. Very good copy of a book which in this binding is usually found rebound. Sadleir 83a. Wolff 7449.

NY: Frederick A. Stokes, 1931. 1st Edition. Hardcover. As New/Very Good. Biography of the Commander-in-Chief, American Expeditionary Forces, WWI. Two volume set, original dustjackets, lacking publisher's box. Books apparently unused, unread. Dustjacket has some modest chipping here and there. No previous owner names or bookplates.

Baltimore, Maryland: Bolgiano Water Motor Co, 1894. Fine. Some rust to grommet.. Printed receipt (5.5" by 8.5") acknowledging the sale of a gas iron from the Bolgiano Water Motor Company of Baltimore, Maryland, to the Hendrick Manufacturing Company of Carbondale, Pennsylvania. Depicts a clever water-powered sewing machine in upper left-hand corner of the receipt, powered by the company's proprietary water motor that "will run Sewing Machines, Fans, Scroll Saws, Coffee Mills, Lathes, Printing Presses, Grindstones, Ice Cream Freezers, Washing Machines, etc." (recto). Attached with small grommet to receipt acknowledging the same transaction on Hendrick letterhead, measuring 7" by 8.5

Napoli (Naples). Full Cloth. Very Good. N.d., circa 1880s. Leporello of the ruins, including one of the museo and a photogravure of local paesane carrying baskets generally over head in the ruins. Closed, 18 by 13 cm. 22 panels with photographs. Probably missing two photos. Giogio Sommer (1834-1914) was a well-known, and extremely prolific, German-born photographer who made a successful business out of photographing and selling photographs of Italian scenery and ruins, and most specifically, in and around Naples, where he came to have multiple storefronts operating simultaneously. Condition: as noted, probably missing two photos. Soiling of the spine. Some fraying of the cloth along the joints, and a few folds reattached discreetly on the blank backs. Some scattered minor soiling within.

The Talking Stick is passed from person to person as they speak . Only the person holding the stick is allowed to talk during that time period.

This Medal of Honor-winning U.S. Marine Corps officer downed 21 enemy planes in World War Two, making him the fourth ranking USMC fighter Ace. PS, 8" X 10", n.p., n.y. Fine. Handsome, high-quality glossy modern reproduction of a candid WW2-era shot of a smiling Walsh standing in front of his plane, inscribed and signed boldly in black fineline at left center: "Ken Walsh CMH / Lt Col USMC (Ret.) / VMF-124 & 222 / 21- Victories." This is accompanied by an 11" X 14" print, a 1991 reproduction of a pencil portrait of Walsh, his fighter plane and his Medal of Honor, boldly signed in pencil at lower right by noted aviation artist Lonnie Ortega. Near fine.

Signed print laid in. Fine/near fine/very good. Quite minor slipcase wear only. Handsome and tight first edition to this large collection by the noted American poet and visual artist (1925-2007), limited to 1000 copies and with a lovely, vibrant original print signed and dated by Williams laid in.
