Pink and grey patterned paper covered boards quarter bound in pink cloth with black and gold lettering on the spine, bright pink topstain, very lightly soiled else near fine in dust jacket, lightly soiled, red lettering at spine is sunned, not price clipped, $6.95 intact, in protective mylar cover. Hercule Poirot; London. "The Ravenscrofts didn't seem that kind of person. They seemed well balanced and placid..." And yet, twelve years earlier, the husband had shot the wife, and then himself - or perhaps it was the other way around, since sets of both of their fingerprints were on the gun, and the gun had fallen between them. The case haunts Ariadne Oliver, who had been a friend of the couple. The famous mystery novelist desires this real-life mystery solved, and calls upon Hercule Poirot to help her do so. Poirot is now a very old man, but his mind is as nimble and as sharp as ever and can still penetrate deep into the shadows. But as Poirot and Mrs. Oliver and Superintendent Spence reopen the long-closed case, a startling discovery awaits them. And if memory serves Poirot (and it does!), crime - like history - has a tendency to repeat itself.. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good-Near Fine. Book.

Reviews

On Jan 27 2014, a reader said:
I HAVE ALMOST ALL OF HER BOOKS IN MY COLLECTIONS AND WILL RE READ THEM OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. IN THIS ONE THE SUBJECT IS ONE I HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED AND THE ENDING IS REALLY VERY INTERESTING AS I AM INTERESTED IN THE "WHY" OF SOMETHING OR WHAT A PERSON (S) WILL DO. ALL OF OUR LIVES ARE DIFFERENT, YET WE HAVE A COMMON BOND, MAYBE GOOD, MAYBE BAD, BUT IT IS THERE.
