London : James Nisbet and Co.,, 1885 A good to very good copy in full-leather prize binding with black and white frontispiece and 4 further black and white plates. Eleventh thousand. The binding has 'Burslem Endowed School Prize 1886' in gilt on the front board and there is a prize bookplate on the front pastedown. The spine has elaborate gilt compartments and a title label. All page edges are marbled as are the endpapers. There is some wear to the top and bottom of the spine and the spine joints (particularly at the front), and there is the odd scuff mark to the boards but the binding is very bright and clean. Contents in very good condition.
