Shrewsbury: Stafford Pryse. Sold By R. Baldwin et al, 1771. First edition, 1771, in a fine binding by Birdsall of Northampton and London. Tan smooth calf with gilt spine lettering and gilt ruled covers, just over ten inches tall, iv, 1-45, [1], plus the advertisement and errata leaf. Exceptional example with only light edgewear and a touch of use-related cover soil, renewed endpapers, firm binding, very clean pages in very good condition with three tiny slits to each margin as a souvenir of its prior binding, no names or other markings. Gift card laid in loosely at the front transmitting this as a gift to the previous owner, a professor of medieval literature. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
