London, Paris & New York: Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Co. No date, c. 1880s. Original blue pebble cloth on boards, quarter leather spine and corners. Moderate soiling and marks. Spine: five raised ribs; gilt title over maroon label, moderate scuffing. Light wear to boards four corners and small nic spot to boards fore-edge. Edges: aged brown. Eps: tiny booksellers sticker to fep foot; ovasl stamp to refp. Front hinge with a little surface splitting. Eps white pages with light foxings. Few only old foxings to a few pages, albeit mnostly to the margins. Colour & b/w illustrations. Binding is VG. 275 x 230 mm1 kg. Frontis: coloured illustration of Lomaria Spicant.. Hb. VG/None. Illus. by Blair, D., F.L.S., Coloured Illustrations from Nature.
