III 33 plates + 3 engravings.. 3 VOLUMES 8vo half tan leather on 5 raised spine bands with gilt flower to each compartment and gilt rules & red title labels. [corners worn more to some than to others/edges rubbed] Pages untrimmed to all 3 volumes. VOLUME I =Frontispiece +titlepage with engraved vignette + Preface +166pp +plate list VOLUME 2 =Titlepage with engr. vignette + 168pp + plate list + VOLUME 3 =Titlepage with engr.vignette + Preface + 155pp + plate list + error lists. The fine illustrations are printed by J.Allart but from illustrations after J.Buys and then engraved by Meer. A beautiful copy of all three volumes without any foxing, tears or marking. Each volume has a sepia bookplate by Doesburgh for Carl Viol with a stamp from the University of Amsterdam.
