(= Schriftenreihe des Heimatmuseums Rapperswil, Bd. 9). - «Felix Christoph Cajetan Fuchs, 3.3.1749 Rapperswil (SG) - 14.3.1814 St. Gallen, kath., von Rapperswil. [...] Stadtschule in Rapperswil, dann Ausbildung zum Zeichner und Kunstmaler in Augsburg (1766-69), Mailand (1769-70), Rom (1770-75) und Neapel (1775-76). Nach der Rückkehr nach Rapperswil 1776 schuf F. die Fresken in der Kirche von Bolligen und entwarf zahlreiche Skizzen, u.a. Illustrationen zu Shakespeares Werken. Mit der Wahl in den Gr. Rat von Rapperswil 1777 brach er seine künstler. Karriere ab. 1783-98 amtierte er als Stadtschreiber und einflussreicher Rapperswiler Politiker. Mit Hilfe des Piaristenordens versuchte er, das städt. Schulsystem zu erneuern. 1799 war er Helvet. Regierungsstatthalter des Kt. Linth, dann Obersteuereinnehmer, 1801-07 Richter am Distriktgericht Uznach, 1804-07 Erziehungsrat und Schulinspektor in Uznach, 1809-14 Grossrat des Kt. St. Gallen und im gleichen Zeitraum auch Appellationsrichter in St. Gallen. Als Vertreter der Ideen der Aufklärung und der Reformfreunde befürwortete er die Demokratisierung des Regierungssystems, widersetzte sich jedoch der Gleichstellung der Rapperswiler Untertanen mit den Stadtbürgern. F. war auch ein Anhänger des Gedankenguts der Franz. Revolution und der Helvet. Verfassung. 1778 Beitritt zur Helvet. Konkordiagesellschaft» (HLS). 010

Sales return
In the event of a well-founded claim, the merchandise can be returned upon consultation within 14 days. If the claim turns out to be unsubstantiated, or the damage is the result from improper handling by the customer etc., all the costs are charged to the customer. Returns are only accepted with the invoice enclosed. Damages during shipment have to be notified within 48 hours. Otherwise the refund expires. Return upon dissatisfaction is excluded.
Place of venue
We are subject only to Swiss law. Place of venue is Zurich.
