About This Item
[No place: Self-puvlsihed?, 1953. First Edition. Signed presentation from Furukaki on a rear page with one of his printed illustrations: "To Mrs. Schneider, March 8th, 1954. Tetsuro Furukaki." Tetsuro Furukaki was a Japanese poet and a francophile, who served as Japanese Ambassador to France. He was also the editor of the newspaper Asahi Shinbun and general manager of the NHK - Japan's broadcasting and television network. His wife Masuko Kikuta was a musician. I believe this to be his earliest work, published around 1952-1953?. The only other titles I can find written by Furukaki are Rosa Rosae (1958); My Heart Paris (1961); and Paris-Tokyo, All My Land (1964). A rare title. Small 8vo., printed wraps. With Illustrations By The Author. Text In English And Japanese.. Very Good (covers nice; contents clean & tight).
