First edition. 8vo. 430 pp. Publisher's green cloth, gilt lettered to the spine, dust jacket, not price clipped. 21 colour illustrations plus numerous black and white ones in the text. Two small specks of wear towards the top of the jacket spine, sunning only to the apricot of the "NN" badge to the foot of the spine, an attractive copy. New Naturalist series no. 74.
