New York: Atlantic Monthly Company, 1927. Single octavo issue in original printed wrappers; 144pp+88 numbered pages of ads; illus. Mild soil and edgewear to wrappers, with pencil ownership signature to front cover; internally complete, clean, and unmarked. Very Good.

First appearance of this much-anthologized story - a quite early U.S. periodical appearance for Hemingway. "Fifty Grand" would be included in the short-story collection Men Without Women later the same year. Other contributors to this issue include Mazo de la Roche (continuation of Jalna, the 1927 Atlantic Prize Novel, which was serialized from June to September) Liddell Hart (a profile of Marechal Joffre); Anne W. Armstrong ("Are Business Women Getting a Square Deal?); others.
