FIRST EDITION. By English novelist of the 19th century, here the author recounts 50 years of life in London, from his childhood through to his years as a writer. Moderate rubbing to extremities with corners rubbed through to cardboard. Front hinge cracked, but binding holding. Light spine lean. Tearing to much of length of front hinge, hinge just starting. Former bookseller's sticker to rear pastedown. Writing in pen to dedication page, and on upper edge of free facing end page.
