Ballantine Books, 1969. Mass Market Paperback. Very Good. Signed. Signed by Beagle at the title page with a small sketch in the 'P.' First thus; the first Ballantine paperback printing. Cover price $0.95. 256 pages. Wraps very good with edgewear, creasing to front hinge, and small (< 2-in) crease from bottom edge of front cover. Two reading creases at spine, each corresponding to a place where the binding opens more easily to the page; binding intact, and else sound. Two small columns of '2' rubber stamped to top of textblock. Pages else clean, interior toned, text unmarked.
Synopsis
A Fine and Private Place is a fantasy novel written by Peter S. Beagle, the first of his major fantasies. It was first published in hardcover by Viking Press on May 23, 1960, followed by a trade paperback from Delta the same year, and a regular paperback in the United Kingdom from Corgi in 1963. The first U.S. paperback publication was by Ballantine Books in 1969. The Ballantine edition was reprinted numerous times through 1988.
