Richmond, 1862. 403pp. Half title. Original printed glossy orange wrappers. Chipped at spine ends, edgeworn, slightly soiled, contemporary gift inscription on front wrapper. Scattered foxing. Good. In a folding cloth box, morocco label. A variant issue of the "corrected and improved edition," published the same year as the first. Pollard's popular history of the first year of the Civil War, told from the Southern perspective, went through several printings, north and south.
