About This Item

Alfred A. Knopf, 1926. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. The volume has pushed spine ends, lightly bumped corners and the spine is light-mildly toned. The top page edges have some faint water spots and occasional soiling. The text leaves are gently toned and there is an ink name on the top of the front pastedown.

A groundbreaking novel of the Harlem Renaissance, Flight is considered a major text in the literature of ‘passing.' The novel revolves around Mimi Daquin, a light-complexioned African-American woman who takes on the identity of a white woman in New York City to leave her difficult past behind. Although she is met with success in her new life, she feels something missing.

About Trilby & Co. Books

Trilby & Co. Books is located in Northern California. The company was founded years ago by a Shetland Sheepdog named Trilby. Trilby's message to her family was brief and direct - the sale of books would increase disposable income and improve the quality of provisions in her food dish. My name is McTavish (picture above). I am the current CEO of this company, and I approve of her message. Oh, by the way, my speciality is literature, with an emphasis on first editions and signed books.
