Bound in half leather with gilt lettering and designs on spine, and marbleized paper covered boards. The first 9 monthly issues for the year 1846 are present, which run from pp. 9 - 378. Pages 379 - 528 for the subsequent issues are not present. Frontis, title page, preface, table of contents and embellishments are missing (pp.1 -8), as is the plate of The Old Billop House on p.106. (P. 105 was blank, being the verso of plate.) Profusely illustrated with many full page engravings - approximately 85 are present among the nine issues. Articles include The Whale and Whale Catching, The Pampas of Buenos Aryes, Music, The Pallisades of New Jersey, Cicero, Benjamin Franklin, The Island of Capri, Form and Structure of the Earth, etc. Some rubbing to the leather with wear at the tips and extremities. London: Printed for and sold by Greenland & Norris, Finsbury Square, 1760 Book. Good. Hardcover. [ii], 16 pages and 14 plates, including 2 of Roman coins. Modern ink owner's name to the upper outer corner of the title page. Plates stained throughout, pages spotted and stained also. Modern rebind in paper covered boards and paper spine - retaining the original printed paper label to the front board. ESTC T155523 where the publication date is supplied as [1760] - just three locations given..

Boards have water stain.DJ with clipped corners and water stains.Feathered edges to pages.

London: Printed for Longman, Hurst, Rees and Orme, 1806 Book. Fair. Disbound. viii, 294, [2] pages + frontispiece. In old full leather binding, now worn and with the front board detached. Respined at some point in the past, but the front hinge now gone. Armorial bookplate of John Smith Esqr to the front pastedown. Pages lightly browned throughout. Some spotting and staining, heavier to the front end papers and half title page..
