New York: A Bright & Early Book, Random House,, 1968. First edition, first printing. This is the first title in the Bright and Early series. Quarto. Original illustrated boards, spine and front cover lettered in blue and red, illustrated endpapers. With dust jacket. Colour illustrations throughout by the author. Ownership inscription of one Melanie Hroziecnik to title page. Spine ends, corners, and extremities bumped and rubbed, slight offsetting to front panel, a very good copy indeed, in the dust jacket, spine ends and extremities chipped and nicked with a couple of short closed tears, a very good example. Younger & Hirsch 23.
Synopsis
Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, published over 60 children's books over the course of his long career. Though most were published under his well-known pseudonym, Dr. Seuss, he also authored over a dozen books as Theo. LeSieg and one as Rosetta Stone. As one of the most popular children's authors of all time, Geisel's books have topped many bestseller lists, sold over 222 million copies, and been translated into more than 15 languages.

This was the first book I could memorize as a kid. I would read it each night, I loved it so much. It was so silly and was a true joy to read. My daughter is two and I'm sure she will love it too when I get her, her first copy. Oh the feet you meet.
