About This Item
Late August Press, 2009. Book. Fine. Soft cover. 1st Edition. Special limited edition of four unbound broadsides, issued to mark the 2009 publication of Summer Nights, Walking. Together with glassine interleaving, contained in a custom navy blue trifold folio with letterpress label tipped in. Photographs by Robert Adams. Additional text by Zbigniew Herbert, William Blake, A. R. Ammons and Emily Dickinson. Four tritone plates created by Thomas Palmer and printed drytrap (using slightly more open and larger plates than those used on Summer Nights, Walking) on heavy matt paper by Meridian Printing, East Greenwich, Rhode Island. The text was printed double impression letterpress by Michael and Winifred Bixler, using lead type, which gives the letters a crispness and depth of impression that can't be matched by synthetic polymer plates. Limited edition of 500 copies. In original publishers transparent envelop. 43,5 x 27 cm. .
