General wear to boards, both hinges starting, bookplate of Edward Dean Lyman on front pastedown; contents clean. Handwritten sheet tipped in on p. 454 noting that all pages are present, but some are "arranged incorrectly" (that is, bound in the wrong order). Cowan I, p. 79: "The most complete work upon the colonization and evangelization of California by the Franciscans." Graff 1250; Howes E-153.
