This is a biography of the composer Frederick Delius by the conductor Thomas Beecham, who promoted Delius' music and was responsible for his rise to prominence as a composer; includes a frontispiece portrait of Delius by James Gunn as well as photographs and other illustrations; also includes a personal letter from Alfred A. Knopf, dated June 2, 1960, to the previous owner, advising her that she could come to his office to obtain a copy of the book, a month before publication in mid-July, in order to give it to her husband on Father's Day (dark red cloth with gold lettering; a bright, clean, tight copy)
