Philadelphia: The Westminster Press, 1953. First Edition (NAP) . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bolden, Joseph (jacket). Bound in brown cloth with titles and rules in red. No additional printings. Signed in full by the author with a non-personalized inscription on the front free endpaper, otherwise unmarked. Both the author's box and the rear panel of the dust wrapper list only to this title. Young readers story of a young man who moves to Nebraska during the volatile 1850s and, after meeting Abraham Lincoln, decides to fight slavery via journalism. The cloth shows just a trace of edgewear. The price-clipped jacket has light edgewear with three short (1/2" or less) closed tears (no chips). The mostly white rear panel is not soiled. Clean and tight; jacket in mylar.
