Deckled edges to the text block. Each volume has a 19th century elaborate bookplate of "William Arthur, Sixth Duke of Portland." There are some discrete library markings; faint evidence of removed labels on the spines. There is an ink-stamped number at the foot of the "Contents" pages in each volume. The title page gives no publisher's information or date, but Worldcat notes a date of 1799, and the author has inscribed and dated the books 1799.
