New York: Longman's Green and Company, 1933. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Folio. 53 pages. SIGNED BY CLARE LEIGHTON ON THE HALF TITLE. Hardcover bound in original full black cloth with cover design and lettering in gilt and housed in the original publisher's slipcase with an orange printed label on the front panel. The slipcase is rubbed, scuffed and bumped. Scuffing and soiling to the paper label. The opening of the slipcase shows some abrasions and wear, but the edges of the slipcase are sound. The binding of the book shows some wear and has bumped corners and dulled spotting to the spine and hinges. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. Patterned endpapers. The text is clean. Stated First Edition on the copyright page. No dust jacket; our "Good" designation for the jacket pertains to the slipcase (worn but solid). Leighton's first and most desirable book. Signed copies are extremely difficult to find.
