Text contains occasional pencil markings. Main text block remains firmly bound. Front hinge and joint cracked, with front board help in place with thread. Wear to rear joint. Previous owner's signature in ink. Edges browned. End papers removed. Corners bumped. Joannes de Laet (1581-1649) was a Dutch geographer and a director of the Dutch West India Company.
