About This Item

Thomas Fraser, Dalbeattie, 1909. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. 'With a reply thereto by Robert Malcolmson, and an Introduction and Notes by Thomas Fraser, and an Appendix.' An interesting copy with a letter from Fraser ( on his rather smart official notepaper ) to a Mr Crosby, of Reading, the purchaser of this copy. Letter is tipped in on the front free endpaper. In his letter Fraser describes the book as 'It is something at least out of the usual rut'. Also present in this copy, loosely inserted, is Fraser's invoice. The book was 6s 6d and the postage 4d. One of Fraser's limited editions of this title ( he published several ), in this case no. 8 of 35 copies on 'natural medium Japan paper' and signed by Fraser. A very presentable copy, publisher's tan cloth binding decorated in gilt. The endpapers are very browned. 87 pages, at the rear a splendid folding facsimile of a 'long-folio broadside' c1820 supporting the unfortunate Queen Caroline. Approx. size of the book 9.5" by 6.5". Quantity Available: 1. Category: Genealogy & Local History; Pictures of this item not already displayed here available upon request. Inventory No: 28079. .
