Very good. 8vo; 378pp + 4pp index; half bound green leather with brown cloth pebbled boards; gilt stamped title to spine; brown endpapers; ownership to front pastedown; frontispiece portrait of the publisher with facsimile signature; ownership in light pencil to head of title page; decoratively engraved title page; a few small wood engraved illustrations in text; chipping to spine and cover corners, front pastedown has evidence of bookplate removal, a few light stains, some pages darkened and some offsetting of ink; very good minus. Interesting glimpse of rural life, agriculture, advertisements, and discussion of fruits and vegetables with a look toward cookery. Discussion of rare plants.
