London; (1979): Heinemann. Limited Edition. Octavo. Limited to only 25 copies. The present copy is number 18. This copy is signed by both Michael Glover, the editor and by Sir Antony Read who has written the foreword. [8], 181pp. Illustrated with 6 double-sided photographic plates and several maps and plans in the text. Glover notes the privileges of the gentlemen who volunteered and were even allowed to dine with officers until their own commission were granted. Gates notes this as one of the important firsthand accounts. A beautiful copy specially bound by Zaehnsdorf in a fine black morocco, centrally stamped with a gilt silhouette over red morocco in a circular gilt frame, inner gilt dentelles, red silk endpapers, raised bands with compartments lettered and ruled in gilt, Zaehnsdorf's monogram at foot, all edges gilt, housed in a lined black cloth covered slipcase. The original dust jacket for the trade edition has been has been bound in at end. A fine copy.
