Collins, Sydney, 1975. First Edition. Hardcover (Illustrated Boards). Good/Good. Illustrator: Kilmeny & Deborah Niland. Coloured illustrated end pages and the fabulous colour drawings within the text have been drawn by Kilmeny & Deborah Niland (the author's daughter's); who also drew the illustration for the hardback covers. Black and purple coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper, same images as for the underlying boards, with purple and black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Set in 1860s Sydney, and about two rival businessmen who go to ever extreme measures to garner customers, till finally one hits on the idea of a balloonist spruiking his store. In one of the stores is a young man called Peter Thin who does all of the jobs that no one else wants to do who has a dream of flying ... Rubbing to the book corners and to the back strip corners. Some stains and marks to the book panels with some age toning of the text block edges and pages. Some creasing of the dustwrapper edges with rubbing of the panels. The panels are somewhat darkened and stained and the back strip is sunned. Some marks and stains to the verso. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Not paginated..
