Hardcover BCE in Good Condition with an Acceptable Jacket, with Mylar Protective Cover. The first-person chronicle of the life and teachings of George Giles, who left the goat farm to become Grand Tutor in the human university. Giles is a half-man, half-goat who discovers his humanity and becomes a savior in a story presented as a computer tape given to Barth, who denies it is his work. Binding of dark grey full cloth w/gilt titles. Clean, tight and solid volume. Edges and corners are rubbed, light scuffing of corners, lighter gray small spots near upper edge of front panel; shallow indentation on fore edge of front panel. Rough cut. Former owner name of endpaper. Pages very clean, completely free of any markings, no creases. Jacket is clean and ragged, triangular piece off facing of front cover--see photo. It has protected the book. 710 pages. 9.5 x 6.5 inches. Publisher: New York. Doubleday, 1966.
