The text is illustrated with a black-and-white frontispiece showing the author a replica of SE5a aeroplane; with another seven black-and-white photographs and numerous black-and-white line drawings and illustrations in the text. Dark blue coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Dark blue coloured tint to the top text edge. Photographic dustwrapper with white coloured titles to the front panel and black and white coloured titles to the back strip. A standard reference for the art of gliding. Rubbing and minor bumping of the book corners with softening and sunning to the back strip. Fading to the top book edges. Age toning of the text block edges and pages. Creasing of the dustwrapper edges and the top 3 1/2 inches of the rear panel is missing; to the dimensions of 3 1/2" x 1". There is a 1.75" tear to the lower right-hand corner of the rear panel.
