Privately Printed 1844. 4to, 9 pp + (1) pp, plus 6 plates printed on tinted paper, drawn and lithographed by the author, pagination of the illustrations corresponds to the relevant page in the text. Title-page printed in red and black on glazed paper, original black printed, lithographed, pictorial (front cover only) card wraps, gilt edges. The spine is fragile but holding (old 1840s glue! ). As far as I know I hold the remaining copies that were originally in store by the Author at Derwen Mansion. The card stock used for the covers was of different colours and I have copies available in pink, green, blue, white and off-white. Josepha Heath Gulston was from Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire. She was a talented artist and novelist, publishing five novels between 1852 and 1856 under the name of "Talbot Gwynne." . The 'Goblin' of the Story was " in form as a small and dwarfish man, but his head was as that of a cat." Copies known at the BL and Bodley in the NSTC. A superb copy of a 'paperback' book that is well over 160 years old! . Contact me for your preferred colour cover. See Images. ; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall .
