About This Item
Faber & Faber, 1932. VG++/VG-. 1st Edition, 1st Impression. 13.6 x 20.2cm pictorial cloth, with titles to the front and spine. Top edge green 273pp with black and white illustrations by Edward Bawden throughout. The original dust jacket is priced at 7s 6d net. The boards are clean and bright with just a hint of dust marking along the bottom edge. Internally clean, without name, inscription and just a tiny Times Book Club label on the rear pastedown. There is a small 3mm closed tear on the fore edge of p95 with an associated crease and very light spotting to the edge of the text block and very faintly on the prelims. The dust jacket is generally very clean with just a hint of toning to the spine and a touch of creasing to the flaps. There is minor loss to three of the four corners and chipping to the head of the spine and small closed tears of less than 1cm along the top and bottom edges. There is also a large repaired tear of 3 cm down from the head of the rear joint and 6 cm across the rear panel with faint evidence of an old tape repair on the verso. However it presents very well in its protective, removable clear cover (not shown). All in all a very good looking copy of this scarce 1st edition. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
